Create in me a clean heart, oh God

 "The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks."
Luke 6:45 NIV

My dear friend Erin, recently made a post about the infamous book, "50 Shades of Grey"
It's beautifully written, and proclaims why Christians should stray from their eyes reading the pages of this book. I highly suggest taking a few moments to read it.
I'm not here to talk about the book specifically; but I am here to express what has been on my heart lately...and that's how our actions and words express the feelings of our heart. Specifically, the things that our hearts are exposed too, very well are the things that we express...

Don't be like the rest of them, my sweet friend.

Don't let your heart be influenced by the evil in this world...

Don't speak words of hurt...

 Don't waste your weekend being wasted...

Don't listen to impure words...

Don't dress to evoke desire like so many other women strive to do...

Don't read or watch things that are full of sin... {Phillipians 4:8}

Don't stand by as others do wrong...

Instead, my sweet friends...Pinned Image

...Let your heart be filled with the words and love of your Savior

...Speak words of love and kindness

...Remember and cherish the precious moments God has given you

 ...Fill your ears with kindness and joy

...Dress to impress, be classy, honor God with your body

 ...Turn your heart and mind to things that are noble, pure {Phillipians 4:8}

  ...Stand up for what you believe to be right, share with others the truth that you possess

Surround yourself with things that are noble and pure.
Things that promote a sanctified and Godly life.
If you surround yourselves with such things, more chances than not your lips will speak lovely things; and your actions will represent the God that you serve.

Don't be like them darling...be the example.
Show others the pure heart that you possess.
Surround yourself with things that promote the pure heart that God creates in you!

I read a devotion the other day about "having a pure heart"
A reminder that God is the only one that truly knows our hearts.
With that knowledge, let's make a daily effort to fill it with things that please him. Let us use our pure hearts to be a representation of him, and spread the wonderful message that we possess! :)

The Lord knows our heart.  This can be a scary thing for we all know sin lurks in our heart. We can look good on the outside but inside we are self-serving and self-centered.  Jesus condemns this hypocrisy, “You honor me with your lips, but your hearts are far from me” (Mark 7:6).  We must pray with King David, “Create in me a clean heart, O God” (Psalm 51:10).

The Lord knows your heart.  This is a marvelous thing when the Lord Jesus has come with his love and forgiveness to your heart. (Ephesians 3:16-19)  For while the exterior resume may not be all that impressive, what God desires is a heart that loves and trusts in Jesus.

God has given you the right heart to live and proclaim Jesus every day of your lives.  As you go about your day today, let the love of Jesus fill your heart.  Let the love of Jesus flow from your heart!

Lord, you know my heart.  Cleanse it from sin.  Fill it with your love.  Empower it to love you and others today.  Amen.
